King Crimson - Discipline
I remixed King Crimson’s Discipline for its 2011 40th anniversary reissue, again working with Robert Fripp to create new stereo and 5.1 surround sound mixes. Released in 1981 after a seven-year hiatus, this album marked a bold reinvention, with Fripp and Bill Bruford joined by Adrian Belew and Tony Levin. Their Anglo-American lineup blended gamelan-inspired chimes and minimalist clarity into a groundbreaking sound, distinct from earlier Crimson records. Tracks like Frame by Frame, Thela Hun Ginjeet, and Discipline showcase Fripp and Belew’s interlocking guitar parts and Levin and Bruford’s cyclical grooves, while The Sheltering Sky and Indiscipline balance hypnotic textures with raw intensity.
