The band's best selling studio album, it was produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin, and was notable for expanding the band’s musical palette to include orchestral / choral arrangements and extensive use of sound effects (all of which sound pretty cool in surround).

Included in the set are a newly remastered CD of the original album, 2 CDs featuring demos, studio outtakes, alternate versions and single edits, and a CD of live performance in Paris. A Blu-ray Audio disc features Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes of the album plus 2 bonus tracks “Beth (Acoustic Mix)” and “Sweet Pain (Original Guitar Solo)”. The box also contains a 68 page hardback book and a staggering amount of collectable KISS memorabilia and ephemera.
