I’ve mixed New Order’s Movement for its 2025 Dolby Atmos release, available for streaming from 20th September, overseen by Stephen Morris. As New Order’s debut album, Movement captures the band—Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert—transitioning from Joy Division’s post-punk roots into a groundbreaking blend of electronic and rock influences, with tracks like Dreams Never End and Ceremony reflecting their raw, melancholic energy. This spatial audio release, a first for New Order, coincides with a special Q&A hosted by Apple Music and Dolby with Stephen Morris and me on 18th September at YES in Manchester, offering fans a definitive way to experience this pivotal album.
