Tears for Fears - Songs For A Nervous Planet

Tears for Fears have announced their first-ever official live album, Songs For A Nervous Planet. The album also includes four brand-new studio tracks. Once again I’ve had the honour of creating a Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mix of the album, and this will be made exclusively available on blu-ray audio from Superdeluxeedition in collaboration with Concord Records.

The album essentially features a complete 90 minute live show from the band's 2022 The Tipping Point tour, including massive global hits 'Mad World', 'Shout', 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World', 'Pale Shelter', 'Head Over Heels', 'Sowing The Seeds Of Love', and 'Woman in Chains’.

The blu-ray features all 22 tracks (4 studio and 18 live) in the following audio streams: Steven Wilson Dolby Atmos mix (48/24) Steven Wilson DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix (live tracks 96/24 - studio tracks 48/24) TFF’s stereo mix (the same that appears on the regular CD and 2LP vinyl editions) Stereo “fold down” version of the Steven Wilson mix (live tracks 96/24 - studio tracks 48/24) Stereo instrumental versions of the 4 studio tracks (48/24)

The fold down is essentially the same as the band’s approved stereo mix, but being derived from the surround mix it has a different and less compressed mastering. The instrumental versions of the 4 studio tracks are also from these “fold down” mixes.

Songs For A Nervous Planet is #28 in the ongoing SDE Surround Series and is released on 25th October 2024. It will be packaged similarly to previous editions and ships with a free, collectible SDE Surround Series slipcase.
