Ultravox - Lament
My remix of Ultravox's 1984 studio album Lament is being reissued as part of a 40th anniversary edition on 6th September in a number of formats, including a 7CD/DVD box set and an SDE-exclusive blu-ray audio with a Dolby Atmos mix (the first time I have mixed the band in Atmos). Lament was the band's seventh album and the fourth with Midge Ure on vocals, and features UK top 10 hit and perennial favourite 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes’.
The 7CD/DVD Box includes my new stereo / 5.1 surround mixes of the album and three additional single only tracks from the period (Love’s Great Adventure, Easterly, and Building). It also has a remaster of the 1984 mix, original and brand new extended remixes, singles and B-sides, work in progress versions and a Hammersmith Odeon concert. A 20-page booklet contains unseen photos and new interviews with the band, plus there is a reproduction of the 1984 tour programme. All this is housed in a 12” sized rigid slipcase.
The SDE exclusive audio only blu-ray has the following audio streams of the album and 3 single only tracks: Steven Wilson Dolby Atmos mix Steven Wilson 5.1 mix (96/24) Steven Wilson stereo mix (96/24) 1984 original stereo mix (96/24)
As a bonus the blu-ray also includes all four of the SW 1980s style extended remixes (in 96/24 stereo only) that were issued for Record Store Day in April. Two of these are also in the 7CD+DVD box set, but two are not.
Note that the blu-ray can only be ordered from the Superdeluxeedition website.
