The Rolling Stones - Black and Blue
Just announced is my new mix of The Rolling Stones classic 1976 album Black and Blue, to be released across a number of formats by Universal Music on 14th November. The stereo remix will be issued on multiple CD and vinyl formats, with deluxe 4CD and 5LP editions additionally including Dolby Atmos and a dedicated 5.1 mix (in other words not downmixed from the Atmos). My aim with the spatial versions has to been to place you in the middle of the studio with the band (a similar approach to the one I took with my spatial remix of Van Morrison’s Moondance). As always my stereo remix is faithful to the original, just looking for more clarity without impacting the magic that is fundamental to the Stones’ sound. The box sets also include a live show from Earls Court, a TV special from Paris, a disc of out-takes and jams, and a 100 page hardback book. 2CD and 2LP editions include the stereo remix and the out-takes and jams. Note that I only worked on the album itself, not on the out-takes and jams or live material.
Black and Blue in all its new guises will be released on 14 November 2025, via UMR. https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/the-rolling-stones-black-and-blue-reissue/

I think you now are well respected name in the music business. Working with the Stones is a big thing. I hope there will be more to come. Congrats Steven, well done
Black and Blue is a very underrated album for the Stones. My personal favorites are "Hot Stuff" and "Hey Negrita."
